Views of Nottingham City Centre and local area
Nottingham is the largest city in the East Midlands with a population of around 300,000. It’s prosperity in the Industrial Revolution was founded on the textile industry and in particular lace manufacturing through which it became internationally important. Although the textile industry has declined sharply since World War 2 many of the fine industrial buildings still remain in the Lace Market area.
The Old Market Square is the largest open town square surviving in England covering an area of around 22,000m2 which was relayed in 2004 with granite to a single level with water features and seating area for concerts etc.
