We have a long established bird table with feeders. The goldfinches and greenfinches love sunflower hearts but they are very messy feeders so the ground feeding birds like woodpigeons and blackbirds patrol underneath the feeders picking up the spillage.
I find that by sitting quietely and not making sudden movements I can get quite good close ups using a 200mm lens I hope you agree.
